Article is about the City of Davis, California which is a city. A people's republic is not a city, it is a communist country like People's Republic of China or in a few cases such a People's Republic of Algeria or People's Republic of Bangladesh, just an official name of the non-communist country and in the cases of the unrecognized People's Republic of Donetsk and People's Republic of Lugansk, 2 nations in the Eastern Ukraine whose constitution is entirely pro-Putin and anti-Ukrainian. The California city has absolutely nothing in common whatsoever with a People's Republic especially that under US/ modern democratic law/most people's opinions a communist country is a human rights violation or dictatorship. Same thing with the 2 unrecognized nations in eastern Ukraine since the the 2 people's republics are considered terrorist groups by democratic nations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Guhuhu (talk • contribs) 00:02, 20 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
I'm declining it because it apparently looks like it's been called this at some point in time. I'd recommend taking this to RfD rather than speedy deletion. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:53, 20 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please see the 15 books which use this name as an alternative to name to Davis, and 24 news stories that also use this term. Also see that it has been mentioned, and verified, in this list article and elsewhere.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 18:33, 25 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
