A diagram of this molecule is needed.

Whoops, sorry... I was curious about this compound, and the first paper I found discussed the dianion, and I falsely assumed that's what "pentalene" referred to. Now I see the true structure of this molecule. I'll put up an image with it. Ed Sanville 06:06, 31 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

The article is misleading in stating the molecule is "not fully aromatic." It has 8 pi electrons and is therefore antiaromatic.169.237.39.9 17:32, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

SMILES is wrong

edit

Pentalene is the quintessential antiaromatic molecule. Its SMILES should be `C1=CC2=CC=CC2=C1` (kekulised). In fact, `c1c=c2ccc=c2c1` is incorrect as the bond between aromatic atoms can only be `:` —I checked and RDKit cannot load it. I'd change it myself, but I assume there's a bot or something that maintains it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.29.109.179 (talk) 15:58, 9 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
