I removed the following text from the article, since it's not at all clear what species within the genus it refers to. Guettarda (talk) 23:53, 16 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Pentaclenthra oil edit

The pracaxi oil has a light yellow color, liquid at room temperature and after some time the deposit releases large amount of white solid fat.

The pracaxi oil is good for the production of soft soap and the fatty substance can be used in the preparation of candles.[1] The oil presents many similarities with peanut oil, however, Pracaxi oil contains the highest known concentration of behenic acid (19%), which is 6 times higher than the peanut oil. The behenic acid very present in Pracaxi oil is widely used for industrial production of cosmetics makeup and hair due to its excellent wetting properties.

Pracachy or Pentaclethra macroloba Pentaclenthra oil

The pracaxi oil has insecticidal properties that acts as a good fighter mosquito Aedes aegypti, which is the vector of Yellow fever and dengue.[2]
