The article indicates that PGSS is the only remaining PGSE. The Pennsylvania School for Excellence in the Agricultural Sciences (https://agsci.psu.edu/school-for-excellence) no longer is billed as a "Governor's School" but is an Institutional Member of the National Conference of Governor's Schools. Perhaps the students' most memorable aspect of PGSS is everything nonacademic. Because the program is run exclusively for talented students, everyone can enjoy learning, but what makes it unique is the reality behind the overused phrase "collaborative learning." It means more than that students are encouraged to sit together and do homework; it means students are required to live with, put up with, and enjoy the company of their fellow scholars. Throughout the intense schedule of classes and homework for those classes, there is at least one social event planned for each day, and weekends usually include an outing, away from CMU and into the fun of Pittsburgh. Such events draw students very close to each other, making the entire month, homework inclusive, into a insanely fun social gathering, resulting in more inside jokes than can be perceived before attendance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.73.64.173 (talk) 04:35, 15 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
