Ten Pennsylvania Guard Units Will Be Reorganized PHILADELPHIA (AP)-A series of reorganizations ordered by the Department of the Army and the National Guard Bureau will affect .ten Pennsylvania Army National Guard units with a combined strength of 1,400. The reorganizations, to be completed by June 1, are being made to meet changing defense requirements. The changes are in unit designation, mission and strength. The units affected are: Headquarters and Headquarters detachment, 28th Aviation Battalion (combat) 28th Infantry Division, Harrisburg State Airport, New Cumberland, increased from 58 to 89 men, becoming Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 28th Aviation Battalion (combat), Company B (general support) 28th Aviation Battalion (combat) 28th Infantry Division Washington County Airport, reduced from 131 men to 95. Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Squadron, 223d Cavalry, Philadelphia, gains one supply section increasing strength to 169 from 163. Troop A, 1st Squadron, 223d Cavalry, Philadelphia, and Troop C, 1st Squadron, Philadelphia, each gain one position from former strength of 158, Company E (Bridge), 103d Engineer Battalion, Philadelphia, gains four positions for new strength of 146. No change in mission, however, the unit will be equipped with an M4T6 floating bridge. 144th Engineer Co. (mobile assault bridge), Philadelphia, also is authorized the M4T6 floating bridge. Troop N (air), 104th Armored Cavalry, Lancaster, becomes Troop N (air) minus Detachment 1, with strength reduced from 147 men to 128. Company A (assault helicopter), 42nd Aviation Battalion (combat) 42nd Infantry Division, Allentown, becomes Detachment 1 of Troop N (air) with an authorized strength of 54, reduced from 107. Battery A, 2d Battalion (Nike- Hercules), 176th Artilery, West View, becomes the 688th Military Police Co. (physical security) with strength reduced from 141 to 199 men.
