Unnamed ex-boyfriend

"although it was actually the absence of his DNA evidence on the body." This sentece is quite misleading. Actually there are DNA on the cloth, but all three men's DNA do not match with Tim Masters.

Unnamed ex-boyfriend

Just a note that the media have been much less reticent than we have in naming this person. See this Google search. Mira Gambolputty (talk) 17:06, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I thought of adding his name in (as well as his brother, who has also been implicated in the media as an accomplice), but I don't think we should add their names without official confirmation that we can cite... I would guess there is a wikipedia policy against adding unconfirmed information like that, unless perhaps it is worded such to be obvious that it is unconfirmed? The way I understand it, we could do the latter. For that, we would need (preferably multiple) reliable sources, and should attribute whatever we say to the source. The Dutch lab say they identified the person whose DNA they found, and this info has been published all over the world, in sources typically seen as pretty reliable, so I think we can publish it too, per WP policy (the most important rules here being WP:BLP and WP:WEIGHT). However, there's no obligation to do so and I personally prefer the way you did it, at least until there's more tangible info. After all, Wikipedia has no deadline.
PS I think you're doing a great job expanding the article. Mira Gambolputty (talk) 23:16, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Split the personal life of Masters into an article about Masters. --VKokielov (talk) 15:54, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

As it should be, this article is about Tim Masters and his wrongful conviction, not Peggy Hettrick. Shouldn't it be titled "Timothy Lee Masters?" It's unfortunate that her murder has not been solved, but his obviously wrongful conviction is the reason this article was written. 99.120.109.85 (talk) 05:07, 25 December 2011 (UTC)nate.leal99.120.109.85 (talk) 05:07, 25 December 2011 (UTC)12/24/11Reply
