How is this different than a stem?
editThis article says (in effect) "A peduncle is like a stem. It holds an inflorescence." The plant stem article says (in effect) "A stem has two parts; one part holds an inflorescence." If nobody responds here to explain the difference (or, better yet, revises the article to explain the difference), I'm going to redirect this to plant stem. - A peduncle is a specific type of stem that holds an inflorescence. I fixed things a bit, but the article still confuses peduncle and pedicel. If it were redirected, it would probably be better to inflorescence.--Curtis Clark (talk) 04:52, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
I am still at a loss as to the term for the sort stem that ends in a piece of fruit.
