"Father General" duration

The intro says:

Pedro Arrupe (Nov. 14, 1907 - Feb. 5, 1991) was the twenty-eighth Father General (1965-83) of the Society of Jesus.

The section "Father General" says:

At the 31st General Congregation (GC 31) of the Society of Jesus in 1965 he was elected to be the order's twenty-eighth Father General. He served in that position from 1965 to 1981.

Rather than leaving these statements interminably with "citation needed" tags, I've moved them here until someone is motivated to research them out and see if they are worth pressing.

For the Jesuits to tie their work so explicitly to the promotion of justice was a very bold move [according to whom?], and some [who?] felt it overly politicized the Society. A critic outside the Jesuits said that "one Basque founded the Jesuits, another one is going to destroy them". [this quote needs a citation]

The decree was so hotly debated that it was not voted on until the last day of the Congregation, March 7, 1975, when it was accepted after a period of intense discussion by an overwhelming majority of delegates. [citation needed]

Arrupe himself was even accused of leading the Jesuits astray.[Dead reference] The controversy led to the condemnation in the 1980s of liberation theology by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger (future Pope Benedict XVI), then Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.''(This question became more complex in the course of time and I suggest it would take more than this brief mention to sort it all out. Controversy and Criticism

After reading Malachi Martin's treatment of Arrupe's generalship (in his best selling book, The Jesuits), I was curious to read more about him. In contrast to Martin's critical scrutiny of his leadership of the Jesuits, this article reads like hagiography. Is there no room for controversy or criticism, here?
