Suburb or town edit

I see the infobox for Peachester has been adjusted from "town" to "suburb" and also changed the population from "locality" to "state suburb". This is now inconsistent with the body of the article, which treats Peachester as a locality. In my opinion, the body of the article is correct and the infobox should be returned to its previous "town" status.

As with many of the new "Regions" created in the Queensland local government reforms, the Sunshine Coast Region consists of a contiguous urban area (in this case along the coast) surrounded by a range of hinterland towns. It defies both the generally accepted vernacular meaning of "suburb" in Australian English and local convention in these areas to treat the hinterland towns as suburbs of the core urban area. The analogous approach would be to treat Millmerran, Queensland as a "suburb" of Toowoomba.

Peachester is a long way from the contiguous urban area of the Sunshine Coast, separated by a mountain range and a long and windy road (apologies to Paul Macartney!). It does not make sense to treat it as a suburb of the Sunshine Coast urban area. -- Mattinbgn (talk) 21:05, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Seems reasonable. Put it down to the perils of mass DB generation of articles I guess, as I'm doing the entire region. Makes you wonder how these guys who generate hundreds of thousands of articles and don't even check the results manage!! Orderinchaos 01:18, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
