P-card? edit

Is this term synonymous with a "P-card"? If so, can someone please re-direct P-card? I was looking for more information about "P-cards". 70.251.32.104 (talk) 00:21, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

In a word, yes. I have created a set of #REDIRECTs. HairyWombat 18:24, 5 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

History? edit

I miss a history section in this article... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.136.29.94 (talk) 13:44, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

dynamic magstripe edit

The referenced article for the re-programmable magstripe doesn't feel too solid and the product it refers to seems to be vapourware that never came to fruition. I can't seem to be able to find many references to actual dynamic magstripe cards, payment or otherwise- do they even exist? Should the mention remain or perhaps be reworded as a concept that was explored but never came to be?

Payment cardCard payment system – Payment cards are part of a system, as the article describes, and there are already articles on credit cards and debit cards. • Neutral a payment card does not necessarily mean a credit or debit card. An ATM card, which is not a debit card, could be used as a payment card. cookie monster 755 01:06, 6 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Weak oppose: The article discusses various types of payment cards, which are the most tangible and visible part of the related payment systems that are involved in the end-user experience. The article also discusses the various kinds of card-reading technologies, such as embossing readers, magnetic strip readers, chip readers and proximity readers (but seems to neglect the possibility of just submitting "card account" information to a website or writing it on a piece of paper that is conveyed to a biller for processing). Nearly all cards support several of these reading technologies. I could envision a hypothetical argument for removing the word "'card", since there may not always be a physical card involved in the use of these payment systems; but the proposal doesn't consider that question. The proposed title is less WP:CONCISE, and I don't see anything really being accomplished by the lengthening. — BarrelProof (talk) 15:19, 15 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
