Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR? edit

I noticed that a claim in the article that Sukhoi was a Deputy Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR had been tagged with a citation needed. So, I thought this shouldn't be too hard, even though I don't speak, read, or write Russian. After all, an English source would be readily available that's NOT sourced from Wikipedia or any of it's myriad, annoying clones, right? Wrong. After a lot of effort I finally found two sources in Russian (thanks to Google Books and Google Translate), and added them to the article since they're better than nothing. But a few things still bother me.

First, even the Google Translate version of the Russian wikipedia article has the 'Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR' claim as unsourced, and the Belarusian language version makes no mention of the Supreme Soviet at all, if the google translation is to be trusted.

Second, the sources I cited were Russian language books published in 2008 and 2009. Could the authors have been influenced by a spurious claim in the Russian wikipedia (which may have been the source of the statement in the English article, or vice-versa?) Ideally, a source that's pre-Wikipedia would be definitive, but I'm afraid I can't proceed any further than I have. I've spent far longer on this than I thought I would!

The citations I added only include the briefest of snippets from the books (about a sentence or two); that's all Google Books offers if the search doesn't find an eBook version. I think there's just enough there to meet a bare minimum to qualify as a citation, but I can't tell if the Deputy claims in the books have been wiki-tainted or not. Any comments are welcome, but I feel like I've reached a dead-end. Itsfullofstars (talk) 22:28, 6 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
