Business Origins
Paul was one of a group of junior managers in Cadbury Schweppes PLC listed for fast-track promotion when he caught the eye of one of the family's daughters, and at first all went well: Paul was the obvious heir to the Company, as none of the next generation were interested. However, he was something of a playboy by nature (I knew him well from many table-tennis matches at lunchtime in the basement of the HQ), and that caught up with him, as it sat poorly with the strong Quaker beliefs of the family. Eventually his cards were marked, and he was on his way, resolving the poor fit of the Foods division by buying it out as an MBO en route. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.193.93.16 (talk) 23:51, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
