Notability edit

I read German, but even after searching the internet in German, I am not convinced of Paul-Henri Campbell's notability, hence my insertion of a notability tag. I may of course be wrong. I'll be grateful if any other editors will share their own assessments and maybe help me to prevent this page again reading like a fan-site, as it did. Campbell's work has been covered by various newspapers. He has been featured by the Leipzig book fair, second largest book fair in the German language in 2012. His work has been published by major literary magazines in Germany, Austria ("Lichtungen"), and Switzerland ("entwürfe") as well in the U.S. Considering these elements, I think notability can be easily established. krautvers (talk 11:53, 20 July 2012 (EST)

  • Dear krautvers, I read German very well, and I do not share your assessment of the writer's notability. That's my right as a Wikipedia editor, isn't it? I may not be correct about the writer's notability, which is why I have added a template and then asked the Wikipedia community to have a look at the article. What normally happens is that a consensus of some form emerges, and we learn to live with that consensus. Until then, you and I must not have an edit war, constantly reverting things we don't like. That's against Wikipedia edit war rules. I worry that you may have already broken the three-revert rule, and I certainly do not want to do so. Please desist. Leave the templates on the bio page until other Wikipedia editors have a look and add their views. As I said, I may be wrong. But so might you. Ok? Yours sincerely, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 22:17, 20 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Dear George Custer, I absolutely share your view on the editing. Thank you so much for helping me so far getting this article running, despite our difference in view. I am certain though that although this article certainly needs some more work, it is worth while having for the entire community. With respect to the notability issue, I just wanted to point at the fact that the German wikipedia has not had this discussion at all. In fact, the notability of the author has never been contested. I understand the necessity to keep wikipedia a notable institution and respect it (and its contributors) for upholding this standard, honestly. (I didn´t understand the three-revert-rule, but now that I am aware of it, I will be mindful in future articles/contributions). krautvers 19:30, 21 July 2012 (CET).
  • Dear krautvers, I think the article has come along nicely. Good job. I know it sometimes seems as though a particular editor is pushing hard on some issue or other, and that this can become frustrating, but my experience is that very few editors do so for the wrong reasons. Almost all -- incl. you and me -- just want to ensure that Wikipedia remains neutral, clear, informative and reliable. Thanks for your effort on this page. Best wishes, George Custer's Sabre (talk) 20:22, 21 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
