undoing my work

Since you deleted this attempt at discussion from your talk page, then I've moving it here:

Would you please stop undoing my work for no reason! In case you hadn't noticed, I was making the article more consistent with other football articles, see for example, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomasz_Kuszczak So what are you trying to accomplish with your constant reverting? 216.254.162.156 (talk) 21:34, 21 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Are you insane? Why are you repeatedly undoing my edits? You have not provided any explanation for your behavior.216.254.166.197 (talk) 23:09, 21 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please read the Wikipedia manual, particularly: Help:Reverting. It specifically states that you need to provide an explanation when you revert someone's good faith edit. Repeatedly reverting someone's work without providing a reason is edit warring which is prohibited.64.56.248.185 (talk) 00:00, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.

All you're doing is making the bar shorter and putting back "present" and italics around loan, which is not how it's done in other footballer articles, whether the player is presently loaned out has no relevance to the matter. 64.56.248.185 (talk) 00:35, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've had enough, I have reported you for edit warring.64.56.248.185 (talk) 00:44, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sorry to kind of butt in, but what's the problem? - Eugene Krabs (talk) 00:45, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
This person keeps undoing my work even though I've repeatedly explained that I'm trying to make it more consistent with other footballer articles ( examples of prominent players who have better edited articles like Tomasz Kuszczak, Ben Foster (footballer), Edwin van der Sar, Cristiano Ronaldo). Yet Oleola seems to think he owns this particular article and refuses to let anyone else edit it, even with legitimate reasons.64.56.248.185 (talk) 00:48, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Respell template

edit

I've become aware of this article through the thread at the dispute resolution noticeboard. It looks like 84.10.140.247 (talk) wants to use a {{respell}} template to make the name in this article easier to understand. I can see where they are coming from, but unfortunately this goes against the manual of style and shouldn't be put in the article. To 84.10.140.247 - If you want, you can bring the issue up at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style, but without a consensus to use {{respell}} there, I'm afraid we must remove it here. Maybe you could consider finding a Polish speaker and making an audio file of the name instead? In any case, it is against Wikipedia policy to try and keep the template in by edit-warring - I'm going to revert the addition of the {{respell}} template, and if the edit-warring continues then I'm afraid the matter will have to be brought to WP:AN3, with the likely outcome that you will be temporarily blocked from editing. I hope that we can avoid this happening, though, as it's never nice to have to report someone for edit warring. Let me know if you have any questions about my revert - I'll be happy to answer them.
