The former. They all get a nominal salary, and make their substantive income from the fees they charge individually for acting as agents for people seeking grants of arms, or for other heraldic/genealogical research someone commissions them for. Beorhtwulf (talk) 07:35, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
