Note the guidelines/help on using Talk pages, and look at some existing Talk pages. You need to create section headers for these to structure the themes, organize discussion and create clarity here. You don't use the Talk page to simply describe an edit made - this is in the Page History. You can edit your post to fix/remove this if you wish.Limelightangel (talk) 11:43, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Style on Talk page edit

Note the guidelines/help on using Talk pages, and look at some existing Talk pages. You need to create section headers for these to structure the themes, organize discussion and create clarity here. In the case above, the section name should be 'intro. para, or similar. You don't use the Talk page to simply describe an edit made - this is in the Page History. You can edit the above post to fix/remove this.Limelightangel (talk) 11:43, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Idea of the path edit

https://www.famedisud.it/cammino-100-torri-il-periplo-della-sardegna-in-un-percorso-unico-al-mondo/ have a look on this link to get some idea on who projected the path of 100 towers

sign all your talk posts using the 4 tilde symbols, as I am about to do Limelightangel (talk) 12:06, 26 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Infobox edit

There is a relevant Infobox template for pages on hiking trail: Template:Infobox_trail. There may be another option. It is used on many pages, like: Selvaggio_Blu_(Sardinia). You can see how it has been used on this page by inspecting the markup (Edit). It is not necessary to complete all the fields in this template. There are predefined rules for the content you can add to each field in the template. See the Infobox help at: Help:Infobox Limelightangel (talk) 11:43, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Draft review, 21/11/22 edit

  • three basic grammar errors e.g. 'main streets', 'tracking', '100 towers', etc.
  • use correct style e.g. not 'a constellation'
  • use a correct article summary intro., summarizing the topic and it's notability, with references - see other pages
  • needs a correct Infobox, images, maps, tables, references and a planned structure - see similar pages

Towers edit

we need to add references in the towers section LIUCElisabetta1 (talk) 13:35, 22 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I got the information from another wikipedia page, I don't know if it is okay to put a reference LIUCTommaso1 (talk) 15:32, 22 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
I do not think it is allowed, however maybe you could check the original source of the information from that wikipedia page LIUCElisabetta1 (talk) 16:16, 22 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
on that wikipedia page there are no references LIUCTommaso1 (talk) 12:18, 24 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
other Wiki pages cannot be used as references, and the towers section is very poorLimelightangel (talk) 12:06, 26 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Should I put another space between the Trekking routes heading and the Towers heading?LIUCTommaso1 (talk) 16:26, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

i don't quite get where you want to add space, can you explain what you mean more in detail ? LIUCElisabetta1 (talk) 17:22, 7 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
By the way, I have put more space between the name of the different trekking routes in the paragraph (street of angels ...) so that the paragraph whose heading is "Towers" does not overlap with the maps of the streets.
what do you think about that ? LIUCElisabetta1 (talk) 17:23, 7 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
It is fine as you did LIUCTommaso1 (talk) 23:24, 7 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

towers edit

remember to verify the source related to the towers' list LIUCchiara1 (talk) 13:55, 22 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

use the relevant sections on the Talk page, and don't duplicate comments. Delete or move this comment and section Limelightangel (talk) 12:06, 26 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I added images of the streets, but the first line of the towers' paragraph needs to be fixed LIUCchiara1 (talk) 16:55, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I fixed it LIUCElisabetta1 (talk) 17:24, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Curiosities edit

Need to check about the testimonium, as in the website state 8 testimonium but says they are 9 LIUCTommaso1 (talk) 14:18, 22 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I think there are 8, 1 for each stage and 1 to cover the full completion - but check this!Limelightangel (talk) 12:06, 26 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

References edit

reference n13 has many authors, I don't know if I should put the main artist or none of them (or maybe everyone)LIUCTommaso1 (talk) 15:18, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

you should include all the authors Limelightangel (talk) 11:08, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Draft review, 26/11/22 edit

  • 19 edits to basic grammar errors made - see Page History
  • use correct style e.g. not 'we can meet', 'gave birth to', 'intense', 'however', etc.
  • several cases of over-linking removed e.g. to flora, fauna, shrub, etc. Several still remain. See help on linking and over-linking e.g. Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Linking#Overlinking
  • Format the long list of towers better, to avoid excessive scrolling down a long list. There are several options here, including using a table with 3 or 4 columns and listing the towers in a table of 2 - 3 columns at the end of each relevant street section.
  • The summary table of the walk sections is a good approach. It is better before the descriptions of the sections, perhaps in a section like Summary of the Route, or similar. This table is also much better if the first column lists the sections and the other columns list the data i.e. turn the table axis around. Make the table wider to fit the whole page, and center the numbers in the relevant table cells.
  • translate Italian names and include the Italian in brackets e.g. for Registo etc; the Passporto is referred to as Pilgrims Passport in some English sources; etc.
  • the section on History has no references
  • the History section needs to say more about the creation of the trail, and it's management, signing, status and administration. Where you say 'the king', find out who this was, what they were the king of, and add this information.
  • references: learn and use refname in the relevant cite templates to remove the duplicate references e.g. refs. 1, 2 and 11; refs 8 & 9; refs 7 & 10 - use the help resources and/also see pages that use it to create several numbered references to a single final reference, preceded by a, b, c, etc.
  • references 14, 15 and 9 have errors related to incomplete use of the cite template or incorrect author name (ref.9)
  • the page needs some use of local maps for either the whole route and/or the 8 stages
  • you will need to add external links, see also and Categories to your page - see similar pages, and use Help:Category
  • the page needs images of the path!

Message for Student editors edit

Please advise your students to follow some of the basic rules outlined in the Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style, especially those on bolding, duplicate links, and overlinked terms. They have also removed valid [citation needed] tags from statements without providing a source. I've been reverting quite a few of their edits over the past few hours and see that there's still hundreds that need to be checked for compliance. SounderBruce 10:41, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Many thanks. I will reinforce this with them, be having meetings with them to review their recent work and the many issues. They have repeatedly had this advice but clearly need it emphasizing. Thanks for the feedback. Limelightangel (talk) 14:47, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Draft review, 02/12/22 edit

  • repeated feedback: use correct style e.g. not 'whereas', 'Still', 'haunted ruins', 'today', etc. See Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style.

i fixed some errors --LIUCchiara1 (talk) 15:32, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Grammar issues e.g. 'aimed to sight enemies', etc.
  • repeated feedback: extensive issues with over-linking, including irrelevant links (e.g. Spaniards; soldiers; mortar; king of Spain; churches, Mediterranean; WW2; etc.) and many duplicate links (e.g. Caligari 5 times; Gulf of Cagligari 5 times; Poetta twice; Quatro st.; etc.). See help on linking and over-linking e.g. Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Linking#Overlinking

I tried to delete some of the repeated links --LIUCchiara1 (talk) 15:32, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • translate Italian names, including in references and for types of towers, and include the Italian in brackets. Check the Manual of style for guidelines: Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style
  • the History section needs to say more about the creation of the trail, and it's management, signing, status and administration. Where you say 'the king', find out who this was, what they were the king of, and add this information.
  • repeated feedback: the following references are incorrect for a number of reasons: 1, 4, 8, 9, 12 - 21, 24. Use consistent case, translate Italian titles, and use dates, dates accessed, publishers, etc. Use the help resources on referencing and use the Cite templates correctly. See Wikipedia:Citing_sources

We don't get what is wrong in the references you mentioned --LIUCchiara1 (talk) 13:27, 6 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • repeated feedback: the page needs some use of local maps for either the whole route and/or the 8 stages
  • repeated feedback: you will need to understand and add External Links, See Also and more Categories to your page - see similar pages, and use Help:Category, Help:External_links, etc.
  • repeated feedback: the page needs images of the path!
  • the Towers section has no source for the rating of the conditions of the towers.
  • there are unequal line breaks, particularly in the descriptions on the Streets'.

Limelightangel (talk) 17:56, 2 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I've uploaded some images on the flora and fauna, are they more pertinent? LIUCMartina1 (talk) 14:08, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
We wanted to add images of the towers but there are a lot, should we still put all of them? And would it be better the cretae a new heading called "Gallery" or put them in the "Towers" section? LIUCTommaso1 (talk) 15:05, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I added all the images of the routes' track, can someone fix the towers' paragraph line? --LIUCchiara1 (talk) 15:31, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm doing it LIUCTommaso1 (talk) 16:04, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
I tried to change a bit the style and grammar of the towers and the flora and fauna LIUCMartina1 (talk) 19:26, 5 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Do you think we should put an image showing all the towers on the island? LIUCgmora1 (talk)

Yes we should put itLIUCTommaso1 (talk) 10:44, 6 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I've added some references on the photos of the draft LIUCgmora1 (talk)

I added a short caption below the gallery imagesLIUCGiorgia1 (talk) 10:54, 9 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

We should do a final review before publishing the page: links, references, names in italian in brackets,... LIUCgmora1 (talk)

Draft review, 12/12/22 edit

  • I have made c. 25 edits related to grammar, style and structure, including moving content on the towers to this section.

I changed the towers' names in English --LIUCchiara1 (talk) 13:36, 12 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • some issues with clarity need fixing e.g. 'crosswalks', 'mammoth arches', etc.

style of non-english words edit

i am having some challenging problems with the Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility#Other languages regarding modifying words that are not English nor Italian, for example Spanish ones that when I modify the style in the edit page it doesn't change the font in draft page LIUCFilippo1 (talk) 14:53, 12 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
