Talk:Patapsco Female Institute

I don't think the PFI has been rebuilt. Last time I was there it was still ruins. The grounds were clear, but the building was still nothing but an open shell.

The supporting reference indicates the building was only partially rebuilt, although it doesn't describe the extent of rebuilding. I've added "partially" to the article. Folklore1 (talk) 21:22, 15 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Rohbock edit

A composer named Henry Rohbock taught at the institute sometime during the 1840s, according to the title pages of some of his published scores (he also published a piece called Patapsco- not a coincidence, I guess, but- who knows) (see IMSLP, Library of Congress, Levy Collection, &c), and at least one of his works from this general time (the song The May Queen, published by Benteen of Baltimore in 1844) is a setting of a poem by "A.H.L. Phelps" - almost certainly, one would think, the same Almira Phelps. Interesting... she is also the dedicatee of another work @ IMSLP (though that's more worth mentioning on her own talkpage, unless that person also had a Patapsco connection I'm unaware of.) .... neat.
