Hello. I will be reviewing this article to see if it passes the WP:Good article criteria. I aim to get the review done within a few days, and then place it on hold for seven days. I have two good articles myself, those being 2020 West Coast Eagles season and Bayswater, Western Australia. I also have three good article candidates currently (Bedford, Western Australia, Collier Road and 2019 West Coast Eagles season).

I have placed the article on hold for seven days. When the issues below are fixed or addressed, I will pass the article. Feel free to ask me questions. Steelkamp (talk) 15:29, 2 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

I have passed the article now. I am happy that everything has been either fixed or explained to me. Steelkamp (talk) 15:53, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Good article criteria edit

Criteria 1 edit

  Well written

I have made some changes to the article. Check over them if you'd like. I also have some things I would like you to change:

  • Instead of saying the station is above-ground, write that it is elevated.
  • Situated along Pasir Ris Central – What is Pasir Ris Central? Is it a shopping centre, a district? Looking at Pasir Ris, I can see that it is a subzone of Pasir Ris. This should be clarified in the sentence. Also, what does it mean to be situated along? Would it be better if "along" was replaced with "in". I suggest a better sentence would be Situated in the Pasir Ris Central subzone
    • Pasir Ris Central is actually a road that surrounds the station. You can check maps of the station--ZKang123 (talk) 03:00, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Replace The EWL station exterior with The station exterior.
    •   Done
  • In January 2019, the station was announced to be an interchange with the Cross Island line (CRL) by 2030. – This sentence reads awkwardly. Replace it with In January 2019, it was announced that the station would become an interchange, with the opening of the Cross Island line (CRL) by 2030.
    •   Done
  • In the infobox, put (future) after cross island line.
    •   Done
  • However, the restrictions imposed on construction works due to the COVID-19 pandemic has led to delays and the date was pushed to 2030 and 2032 for CRL1 and CRLe respectively. – Put the previous scheduled opening date in the article. Currently, the article simply has the revised opening dates.
    •   Done There wasn't a definite opening date, and generally it is a one-year delay. I also just noticed that someone must have changed the initial dates to their now-announced dates, so I rectified them in the article.--ZKang123 (talk) 03:00, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • After it was announced by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to install half-height platform screen doors on elevated stations on 25 January 2008 to improve safety, In 2009, Pasir Ris station was the first elevated station to have platform screen doors installed, and later in November, the doors began operations. – This sentence has grammatical problems.
  • Train frequencies range from 2 to 5 minutes depending on peak hours. – What does this mean? Does it mean that train frequencies are every 5 minutes outside peak hour and every 2 minutes inside peak hour, or does it mean trains are every 2 to 5 minutes during peak hour?
    • I'm trying to be a bit broader here instead of going into specifics. The source (click on Pasir Ris on the easternmost half of the map) indicated that on Mon-Fri it is 2 to 5 minutes at peak hours, and 5 mins off-peak. Then Saturday 4-5 minutes peak and 5 mins off-peak, and Sunday just 5 minutes. I'm trying to distill the information here to avoid making it too much of a guide.--ZKang123 (talk)

  • What does as announced by then-first deputy prime minister mean? Should it be simply as announced by then-deputy prime minister?

Criteria 2 edit

  Verifiable with no original research

I will do a review of the references soon. Steelkamp (talk) 08:34, 1 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

I have checked references [1], [3], [8], [9], [10], [12]. [15], [16], [36], [37], [53]. Each reference matched up to the text in the article. I found no issues with the reliability of any references. This criteria is fulfilled. Steelkamp (talk) 15:26, 2 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Criteria 3 edit

  Broad in its coverage

  • Construction commenced in 2019 and will be completed in 2023. – I notice that the CRL works were delayed due to the pandemic. Were these works delayed as well?
    • There have not been any update on this, so I assume it is still 2023. The works are kind of minor and not a big project compared to the CRL.--ZKang123 (talk) 03:00, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • The name "Pasir Ris" means "white sand" in the Malay language, referring to the stretch of white sandy beach along the coastline at the northeast. – This is covered at Pasir Ris. It is unnecessary detail to have it on this page.
  • I think specifying the contract number is too specific. Just saying that a contract is signed is fine. Replace Contract 306 with A contract, and so on for other instances of this occurring.
    • Hmm ok   Fixed. Though I would actually prefer keeping the contract number.--ZKang123 (talk) 03:00, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
