Etymology edit

The intro formerly said that the Ancient Greek παρθένιον referred to the genus Parthenium, and cited Pedanius Dioscorides' De Materia Medica. This is clearly impossible, since this genus is found only in the new world, so neither Pedanius nor any other ancient Greek could have known about it. Liddell & Scott's entry says that παρθένιον was Pyrethrum parthenium (now known as Tanacetum parthenium), which is at least geographically possible since T. parthenium grows in the Balkans and Anatolia, so I have changed the discussion of etymology accordingly. - LaetusStudiis (talk) 23:43, 14 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
