AfD result

I don't think "keep and merge" (which is the same as "delete and merge, right?") is a valid nonadministrative AfD result - and a nonadministrative closure is improper because there's no clear consensus what to do. I think a close as "merge", even if performed by a non-admin, would still be valid if there were clear consensus at an AfD for that action. As there is none in this case, I made a clarification note at the AfD. Hope this may help stop the edit-warring here and lead to unprotection. :)--PeaceNT (talk) 13:58, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Merge Proposal

I expanded the details about the video in her main bio to a respectable summary style to someone (me) who wasn't clue'd up on the whole incident - see this version version. As can be seen it is now the same size as this article bar the Reactions section (current protected version: [1]). This, according to the tag above is being kept out of the election article for size reasons, but now, the unique portion of this article makes it's topic Reactions to Paris Hilton's compromise energy policy, clearly not a justifiable topic for a standalone article, therefore, I propose mergeing the Reactions section to a section within Comparison_of_United_States_presidential_candidates,_2008#Energy_and_environment. Merging this article into comparison between the candidates is a completely ridiculous idea, because this is an independent work of art with its own title. Merging details about every work of this level of fame into one article about differences between campaigns would make that article way too complicated. Deleting this article is also not a good option, because it is famous enough (well documented in the article--Even US Congress is talking about it) to be encyclopedic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.35.71.124 (talk) 19:08, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Read the rationale again. I only propose moving the political debate stuf into the presidential article, the only place it is relevant to. There is no point having the rest of the article about this "independant work" duplicated in two articles. MickMacNee (talk) 10:38, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
