I've heard that the Parademon in Villains United had previously appeared in Young Justice. Is that true? Ocicat 20:33, 13 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Merge edit

It has been suggested that Parademons be merged into this article, please discuss. --Basique 04:17, 25 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Merge both articles could be called "Start" class and are short enough that a combined article should not need to be split. — J Greb 07:34, 25 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
    • Done, but I might have screwed something up so go ahead and fix. Quarl (talk) 2007-02-25 09:46Z

Fair use rationale for Image:Parademon2.JPG edit

Image:Parademon2.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Byrne parademons edit

Parademons appear in (and are a major force in) John Byrne's "Generations III" comics, in which they are referred to as "not truly living organisms" and Superboy's x-ray vision reveals that they "aren't even truly alive". That maxiseries is, like the other Generations stories, "An Imaginary Series" (its subtitle). But this raises the question of whether parademons are normally alive in the way that other residents of Apokolips are, such as Himon and Barda. Asat (talk) 08:45, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Paragraph needs rewrite edit

The following paragraph needs a complete rewrite. I'd take a crack at it but even after several reads, I'm not exactly sure what the author was trying to say:

"Repurposing them through the usage of nightmarish Apokoliptian technologies, Red Tornado of Earth 2 noted that K'li's, former fury of Darkseid; that special class of Berserker Parademons are the remodeled remains of the dead or kidnapped citizens from their world.[4]"

Questions:

  • What is the purpose of the semi-colon? These do not seem to be independent thoughts.
  • Who is saying that Parademons are the remodeled remains?
  • Is it even important to mention Red Tornado or K'li?
  • Is K'li subject or predicate?
  • What does it mean that Red Tornado "noted" - sounds like she wrote something down in her diary. Does this mean she discovered the origin of Berserker Parademons?

This is my best attempt at a rewrite so far but I'm going to try to read Earth 2 World's End from which this reference was taken, to get to the source material.

"Red Tornado of Earth 2 discovered that K'li, former fury of Darkseid, created a special class of Berserker Parademons from the remodeled remains of the dead or kidnapped citizens of their world, repurposing them through the usage of nightmarish Apokoliptian technologies.[4]"

If someone has read the original source material, can you please comment?

After reading Earth 2: Worlds End #2, I'm more confident that my interpretation of the paragraph is accurate. This is what I'm going with as the final draft:

"Red Tornado of Earth 2 discovered that K'li, former Fury of Darkseid, was creating a special class of Berserker Parademons from the remodeled remains of dead or kidnapped humans, repurposing them through the usage of nightmarish Apokoliptian technologies.[4]"
