Isn't the scientific name bardii? - Dryke 01:02, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Never mind, I see that the species is named after him, not by him. Dryke 01:04, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Elaphe bairdiPantherophis bairdi – Several phylogenetic studies have indicated that this species is properly placed in the genus Pantherophis (see citations in article). Also, the previous suggestion in the article that Elaphe should be maintained based on the standard common names list of the Society for the Study of Reptiles and Amphibians is out of date. The current SSAR list places this species in Pantherophis. Paalexan (talk) 22:28, 28 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Seconded - this move is long overdue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Caissaca (talkcontribs) 13:00, 29 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
