Panthers

Can all species of Pantherinae be called panthers?--Humboldt

No, actually only Leopards and sometimes Pumas are called Panthers.--Altaileopard 11:29, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

I've seen the term panther used in different ways, sometimes meaning any or all big cats, but usually meaning a black panther, which can be a leopard or jaguar. Panther is also one of the many names of the puma. Crysm (talk) 23:41, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

At Felinae. The addition of Acinonys to Pantherinae was performed by a vandal earlier today, and has now been corrected. Anaxial (talk) 17:45, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
