The reference implies that the remains were found somewhere close to Yukon, whereas the text mentions NE China. Is this because of tectonic plate movement over the course of 350,000 years, or am I reading too much into this?  freshofftheufoΓΛĿЌ  23:41, 24 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, the title of the reference refers to Panthera atrox (the American lion), who was found near Yukon. A part of the refered article has info on Panthera youngi. Peter Maas 15:47, 26 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ah! I see, thanks.  freshofftheufoΓΛĿЌ  16:19, 26 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I did some looking around the Internet (such as the PBDB, Wikipedia sister sites, and government websites), and my public library and found nothing other than the name of this animal. There don't seem to be any fossils attributed to the animal. Is this due to confusion with tigers, or was this animal only described by Pei? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.100.238.69 (talk) 21:25, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Reminds me of Panthera combaszoe. Leo1pard (talk) 16:17, 14 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
