Avarau means 200 harbour entrances - or 100? edit

I'm not fluent in Cook Islands Maori but I'd be surprised if Avarau means "200 harbour entrances" rather than 100. I'm guessing 'ava' means harbour entrances, as 'awa' means river in NZ Māori, and rau means 100 as it does in NZ Māori. 'Rua' means two, which could have created confusion. Or is "200" a figurative way of saying "many"? --Hugh7 (talk) 01:28, 8 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Discovery edit

The article says the island was discovered by James Cook but later says some ancient graves were found on the island. It appears to me the first claim was wrong. Bobbbcat (talk) 07:47, 30 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
