Further Improvements edit

This page on Wikipedia does a phenomenal job introducing the film and the story for basic plot points and would be helpful for someone looking for general information on the movie. More research needs to be done looking into the production story, the process of turning the book into a movie, etc. There is also minimal information about public response to the film, which is interesting considering it received a lot of attention in the press. Overall, this is a good starting place to learn about the movie but needs to be more flushed out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheHappyPlace14 (talkcontribs) 03:00, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

"Mixed-race" edit

Berta Vázquez as Bisila, a mixed-race woman; the love interest of Kilian

Berta Vázquez is mixed-race, but, in my understanding of the film, Bisila is pure Bubi. Her father is Ose who is a Bubi (chieftain?). Her mother does not appear, but in Spanish Guinean society it would be very unusual to have her a white woman. Besides, in the scene when Bisila, Kilian, Iniko and Laha try to board the ship, the Guinean soldier describes child Laha as mulato (he is the son of Bisila and Kilian) distinguishing him from his half-brother. How is Bisila described in the book? Should I remove the mixed-race description of the character line? -- Error (talk) 09:52, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
