Basque or Celtiberian edit

As far as i know, Pompey was wintering among the Basques, who were in league w/ him against Sertorius, who fought using Celtiberians. I didn't see the sources for this being a Basque town, and if so, it goes against the above convention, according to this passage from Appian (not that i take Appian's word at face value) "While Pompey was laying siege to Pallantia and underrunning the walls with wooden supports, Sertorius suddenly appeared on the scene and raised the siege. Pompey hastily set fire to the timbers and retreated to Metellus. Sertorius rebuilt the part of the wall which had fallen and then attacked his enemies who were encamped around the castle of Calagurris and killed 3000 of them." from http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/cgi-bin/ptext?doc=Perseus%3Atext%3A1999.01.0232;query= chapter%3D%2314;layout=;loc=1.12.103

San Zoilo edit

Hello, I'm spanish and I've just seen a mistake. Althoug my English is not very well I'm trying to explain this mistake: In introduction's final part we can read "the monastery of San Zoilo..." but this monastery is not localizated in Palencia, it's in Carrión de los Condes, a village in Palencia's province's center. I would like that someone correct that. Thanks.--84.125.97.64 (talk) 08:40, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi again, the mistake is not only this, the article is always talking about the province but the it's the article of the capital. --84.125.97.64 (talk) 08:44, 5 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

History edit

The history section must be rewritten, as it deals chiefly with the CAtholic side, ignoring other more important events. I suspect it was copy-pasted from the Catholic Encyclopedia, an act always discouraged. That material should belong to bishopric of Palencia.

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page edit

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Air quality deaths edit

There is no source about 231 deaths due to poor air quality in Palencia as stated in this Wikipedia article. I actually know the mayor of this city and he denies it ever occurred? 2800:BF0:2204:10B9:582D:111:490A:F7E3 (talk) 14:39, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Removed the dubious content. No source is provided.--Asqueladd (talk) 14:57, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
