Talk:Paladin (character class)

The WoW section for this page is way too long. Ardus Kane (talk) 10:29, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Paladins in Warcraft are arguably one of the most important classes (from a lore perspective), and thus they have a large amount a history behind them. I'll rewrite the section anyway and condense it as much as possible without losing the main points. -Flyingtoastr (talk) 06:06, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
This should still include a link to Leeroy Jenkins, the most famous paladin of them all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.57.96.1 (talk) 15:44, 12 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:World of Warcraft Human Male Paladin.jpg

edit

Image:World of Warcraft Human Male Paladin.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

WarCraft section needs an update

edit

A lot of it is very untrue as of World of WarCraft today. 216.227.90.154 (talk) 03:12, 5 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Guild Wars section

edit

The Paragon is far more similiar to a Paladin than the Dervish if you ask me. Read the description of the classes on the Guild Wars wiki (particularly the bit about Paragons being hand-picked by the gods, and the fact they wear heavy armor). Even the name is more similiar - and Guild Wars 2's Guardian is very much like your typical Paladin archetype, and is a spiritual successor of the Paragon and the Monk (stated in many articles on the class), not the Dervish. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.11.227.226 (talk) 14:37, 22 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

possible copyvio.

edit

Large parts of the Diablo II paragraphs seem to come directly from the manual (which I don't have atm), esp. the "During ..." and "Unfortunately ..." paragraphs. Is that a copyright violation, or is there an OK by Blizzard? - ¡Ouch! (hurt me / more pain) 15:34, 25 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

[1], and there are a few others on that same site that do comparisons with this class and other films' characters. One can also argue that many businesses with the name "Paladin" in it come from this class name. In any case, there would need to be a bit more discussion and analysis on sourcing before supporting deletion. --MuZemike 18:42, 26 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
