Christian faith edit

sunny sands school

The Paite did not adopt the Christian faith in the 19th century, it was in the early 20th century. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.117.230.193 (talk) 13:57, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Paite/Paitei edit

There seems to be some disagreement on what spelling should be used in the article text. Opinions, anyone? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:54, 6 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

"Paite" is simpler. Let us stick to it. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:17, 6 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Naming convention? edit

User:Gråbergs Gråa Sång, I don't understand what you are referring to in this edit summary. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 10:59, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Kautilya3 In this [1] ES I mean that we should stick to the WP-name of a place, per "The same name as in the title should be used consistently throughout the article". However, I find "the Churachandpur Town (also known as Lamka)" a little confusing since the wikilinks lead to different articles, so maybe I'm misunderstanding something, it's not like I know a lot about the geography here. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:19, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
The article on Lamka should be eventually merged into Churachandpur. (It is a case of locals having a name for a place, but the state imposing its own nomenclature and winning, similar to Anantnag for "Islamabad"). -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:15, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Phew, I thought for a minute there that you meant that Islamabad had changed name and I didn't know about it. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 12:45, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Kautilya3 If you feel like checking if there was anything WP-good here [2], please do. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 12:04, 29 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hard to say. Changing "Churachandpur" to "Lamka" will happen again and again! -- Kautilya3 (talk) 14:38, 29 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
