Good job on improvements this summer

Lots of good, reliably sourced info added. I also like the visual enhancements. Fishgeek (talk) 15:49, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

I see an edit war is brewing, with discussion only taking place in edit summaries instead of here on the talk page where it belongs. Please make your cases here and stop reverting one another until a consensus has been reached. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:43, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Recent updates/edits

Good point Beeblebrox, I am a new Wikipedia contributor and am still learning the different sections, thanks for the clarification. The recent updates that I did on the page reflect the most up to date information on P. Halibut biology regarding age, migration and growth. The information on those processes that was included in the previous version was outdated (secondary sources, articles dating to the mid 1990s in the case of max age). The edits were verified by the primary source (IPHC, information contained in their website, I provided in the last revision links to the gral. biology page, and there's a multitude of reports and presentations that support this changes). In my first edits I did not source/cite the changes since the original article did not have source citing for most of the statements on it, as you would expect on a scientific paper, and that's understandable since this is a general article. --Fletan (talk) 20:21, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you Fletan for citing your changes so well. Fishbase is a default source, and if your edits conflict with the information there then reliable counter sources are needed. Your "intervention" Beeblebrox was premature and unnecessary. There is no point in lowly content editors trying to maintain standards if we are going to be threatened for "edit warring" for trying to get things right. --Epipelagic (talk) 23:37, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
