Newbie attempting to expand this stub article using biography published elsewhere

edit

Hello,

I am a Wikipedia Newbie and I am attempting to expand this stub with information on the Pacific Zen Institute that has been published on the Pacific Zen Institute web site (https://pacificzen.org/) as well as on Sweeping Zen (http://sweepingzen.com/john-tarrant-bio/)

I have done my best to site my sources and cross link to other Wikipedia articles.

What is the process for this edit not getting "approved" and remaining visible?

Thanks

Hi Stvngrant. What exactly do you mean with "not getting "approved" and remaining visible"? The copy-paste of information from SweepingZen might be a problem, see WP:COPYPASTE. I have to admit, I did the same thing with the lineage-information; therefore I just sobered it. Joshua Jonathan (talk) 19:10, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hello Joshua! I made some changes last night on this article and then logged into Wikipedia this morning and saw that the page had rolled back and my changes were gone. So I went to history and republished and was hoping to get some guidance on this talk forum. Might it be a simple cashing error? Thank you for the tip on the copy-paste. I will take some time and re-write this article in my own words.

Update

I am definitely seeing different versions of the page depending on what browser and if I am logged in or not. There are two URLs at work: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_tarrant http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Zen_Institute

On IE and not logged in I do not see my edits from the last 24 hours. If I log in I do. Stvngrant (talk) 21:24, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi Stvngrant. Just noticing that there are still significant copy-paste portions here (compare to http://tarrantworks.com/about/). Please address, following WP:COPYPASTE. Thanks! Stranger thans (talk) 07:15, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Possible CoI declaration

edit

I know Subhana Barzaghi personally and having listened to her recollection of the events leading up to the 1999 Diamond Sangha Teachers' Circle meeting in Hawaii, resulting in the open letter as discussed in Tarrant's bio. I've restructured the article (separating the PZI history from the Tarrant bio), tried to explain things more transparently, and removed wording that did not comply with a neutral point of view. Most importantly, I have moved the list of Dharma heirs for Barzaghi from this article to the Robert Baker Aitken lineage, as they are all teachers in the Diamond Sangha without any association to Tarrant or the PZI (with the exception of Gillian Coote, who also signed the letter). Given that I know Barzaghi, some may claim that I have a conflict of interest. I don't think that's the case but I invite others to check my edits. Schwede66 21:28, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
