Contested deletion edit

This article should not be deleted for lack of asserted importance because the PERFORM-3D structural engineering software for performance based design has enough notability on its own to merit an article separate from the Computers and Structures, Inc. (CSI) article, which provides encyclopedic content documenting the company which produces the software.

Creation of a separate page to chronicle PERFORM-3D will make the subject easy to find and read. Further external references will be provided with the addition of content to justify its notability.

While this article currently is very brief, it has just been created and will be developed into a more comprehensive and neutral resource in the very near future.

The significance of this subject matter also lies in its contribution to the structural engineering industry. PERFORM-3D serves as an important tool for the advanced study and understanding of structural systems. The modeling and performance assessment of building systems under extreme loading conditions would not be as accessible, if not possible, without PERFORM-3D. — Mike P. First, please disclose your COI; second, please read WP:GNG and WP:RS; third, please read WP:NOT - Wikipedia is for articles about notable subjects, not a medium for stealthspam. – ukexpat (talk) 20:58, 16 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
Stealthspam has a condescending tone, in my opinion. Mike P. Abell 06:27, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
And editing with what bears all the hallmarks of a COI the size of the Golden Gate Bridge but not declaring it is either thoughtless or deliberately deceitful. You might have noticed that you've really managed to get people's backs up with the string of commercial articles that you've created. This is because this whole project is a labour of love that people selflessly give their free time to. To have people try to exploit it for their own commercial gain is a slap in the face and shows a massive lack of respect for the millions of man-hours that volunteers have spent building this encyclopedia. That might be – perhaps – why ukexpat wasn't sugar-coating his words for your consumption. Brammers (talk/c) 12:33, 17 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Created PERFORM-3D article edit

I represent CSI and I have many suggestions on how to edit this article. I would appreciate the assistance of the Wikipedia community in contributing to this article. I am available for dialogue.

I think a great place to start might be looking into publications on structures derived from analytic models using PERFORM-3D software. Let me gather a list of non-primary citations which do discuss the use of PERFORM-3D in performance assessment, then I'll post them here for possible use.

It is the goal of the structural engineering community to provide society with more economical and better performing structures. Perhaps integrating material into this article will be to the benefit of public well-being, as well as education.
