Other devices with PDMI
editDoes the Samsung Galaxy Tab have a PDMI connector?
- They say it's a 30-pin connector the preview, so it's most likely PDMI... unless they use Apple Dock connector, which is quite unlikely. Dell doesn't list PDMI in their specs for the Streak as well. Seems like manufacturers are trying to make the impression it's a proprietary interface, which requires branded proprietary cables and accessories. --Dmitry (talk •contibs ) 16:28, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
The Samsung Galaxy Tab does NOT have a standard PDMI connector. It is a 30-pin connectors with a housing very similar in size and shape to the Apple 30-pin connector, but with the contacts inverted or "flipped". The Samsung connector is physically incompatible with both PDMI and the Apple connector. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.52.168.166 (talk) 14:18, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
See, for example: Samsung Galaxy Tab Dock Cable Connector Pinout
Apple is not using PDMI.
"...One exception has been the group's work on the Portable Digital Media Interface (PDMI, CEA-2017), a 30-pin connector for media players that aims to be an alternative to the iPod interface defined by Apple Inc...." http://www.eetimes.com/electronics-news/4077834/CEA-may-spawn-standards-effort-for-handhelds Yosri (talk) 02:07, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
