"Johnny Got His Gun" by Dalton Trumbo edit

I've just been reading "Johnny Got His Gun" (in Dutch, as I'm from Belgium) and I strongly suggest to make a reference to the book on the page of 'Over There'. Not only is this song the direct inspiration for the title, it is also quoted in the book. The book as a whole is a strong anti-war book and in that way is completely the opposite of the song. I see the title of the book as this: "You asked for Johnny to get his gun? Well... Johnny got his gun <and read/see the result>". 212.123.26.150 (talk) 14:36, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Original Research? edit
This article states: "The song is best remembered for a line in its chorus, "The Yanks are coming."" Don't think this phrase is any more remembered than the chorus as a whole - what is the reference for this article's claim? Sammys/Sammies? edit
In the first recording listed – "Nora Bayes recording July 13, 1917, via U.S. Library of Congress, National Jukebox" – the singer sings a separate time through the song "that the Sammys/Sammies are coming", which line differs from the lyrics in the Billy Murray recording given at the Play-button in the article, where it says "That the Yanks are coming". The article didn't mention this variation. What or who are these Sammys/Sammies? Thank you! Misty MH (talk) 23:32, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
