This:

The magazine was founded by Michael Goff in 1992 as Editor in Chief and President. He and first hire, Executive Editor Sarah Pettit built the largest circulation gay publication ever and for the first time attracted world-class writers and contributors and mainstream advertisers to fund it.
A key ingredient in Out's success at attracting high brow advertisers who had never considered targeting the gay market before was that the magazine offered a safe environment in which no pornography or personal classifed advertisements were allowed. By removing this significant barrier, advertisers were able to utilize this new national print media vehicle to reach a marginalized audience and effectively showcase their products and services. In less than two years, Out surpassed The Advocate, the only other national gay magazine and one which had been in existence for 30 years, in circulation and scope of advertisers.

reads like a press release from the publisher. :) Would be nice if someone could rewrite that... -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 22:28, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

More than Five years later, someone finally bothered doing it. Who says that wikis don't work? :/ -Jason A. Quest (talk) 18:05, 17 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

"Gay men's magazine"? edit

I know the magazine is predominantly gay male, but doesn't it market itself as a "gay and lesbian" magazine? Or is that in the past? SergioGeorgini 12:19, 1 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
