For notability, Heuer seems to meet WP:NACADEMIC as he held the highest-level elected or appointed administrative post at a major academic institution or major academic society.
• de:Veit Valentin (Pädagoge) was Chairman of the Academic Committee, I am not sure if that makes him the predecessor of Heuer as director of the Hochstift. Oddly, Heuer is described as zweite Direktor here, presumably after Volger. I have added a list of directors to the Hochstift article.

• I have added templates to the sentences I meant. These were taken from the German Wikipedia article and I didn't find a source for them.
• I am not sure about the predecessor thing, I think I am probably wrong to put Veit Valentin, but I don't think Karl Nikolaus Berg was the director between 1881-1887 either. I will have a read of the Adler FDH history and update this article. It is odd that that site describes Otto Heuer as the second director. The only reason I can think for that would be if the heads of the FDH between Volger and Heuer used another title than "director". Medarduss (talk) 09:40, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

  TSventon, I have just checked in Adler; Berg was re-elected as "Obmann" in 1883 and 1884, but stood down on 17 November 1885. Seng says that Valentin was the Chairman of the Academic Committee (as you noted), organised lectures, helped write the yearbook and organised exhibitions. So he did a lot, but wasn't the "director". I can't find anything saying there was a leader between Berg and Heuer. Medarduss (talk) 10:08, 22 August 2022 (UTC)

Medarduss, zweite Direktor could mean after Volger and it could also be a mistake. Could you add a reference for Berg as Obmann from 1881 to 1885 in the Hochstift article? The title of director seems to relate to the opening of the Goethe Museum in 1897, so Heuer probably doesn't need a predecessor in the infobox. If you have translated content from de Wikipedia you should use an edit summary like Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution. Yeah, I think it could be a mistake. Sorry about not including the de Wiki attribution. I will remove Berg from Heuer's infobox, and add a sentence saying that Berg served as chairman between 1881 and 1885 + references. I don't know where it is best to put so feel free to change it.

I guessed that a. = anno, vv. dd. = venerable doctors and then used Google translate. I am surprised by the lack of sources, presumably the Hochstift would have them if they existed. It would be interesting, but difficult, to check pre-war newspapers for obituaries. TSventon (talk) 09:15, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

I was born Georg Hermann Heinrich Otto Heuer in Hanover on the 6th of February in the year 1854, to my father Friedrich Wilhelm, who had already been saved by premature death, and to my mother Emilia, of the Kuhlemann family.
