General Oskar Ferdinand Casimir Gripenberg a Russian?

edit

Heh hee. He was a Finland´s Swede from notable Gripenberg family who served in the Imperial Russian Army. He died in 1916 not 1915. He received the The Cross of Order of St.George (III Class) in Russo Turkish War 1877-1878. Suffered a defeat in The Battle of Sandepu because General Kuropatkin refused to send for him more troops. Behind this was the Kuropatkin´s dislike against this Finnish born General.

Here, ones again in English Wikipedia, a Finnish (Swede) is made Russian.

Moreover, a Gripenberg would never spell his name "Grippenberg". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.204.97.59 (talk) 15:04, 9 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

edit

The poor general Oskar Gripenberg died 25 December 1915 and 7 January 1916 if the article is to be trusted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.71.142.170 (talk) 22:00, 25 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
