"Nordisk och jämförande fornkunskap" is the Swedish for "Nordic and comparative archaeology" and was the subject of his professorship, not the title of any publication. A not very far-fetched guess is that the work on brooches (or fibula) intended by the author of this page is Almgren's dissertation Studien über nordeuropäische Fibelformen der ersten nachchristlichen Jahrhunderte, mit Berücksichtigung der provinzialrömischen und südrussischen Formen (1897).
