Seat of a subprefect?

edit

I might be wrong but I think that the line "Orthez has a tribunal of first instance and is the seat of a subprefect" is incorrect. When I lived there in 2003-2004, Bayonne had a subprefectural office and the main prefectural office was in Pau. When I had to do anything involving the government, I either had to go 40km east to Pau or 70km east to Bayonne. It would've been great if it had a subprefecture there; I could've just walked to it then! :)

Good point! I have corrected that, from the info at fr:Arrondissements des Pyrénées-Atlantiques. olivier 12:30, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Merci bien, mon ami. Tu viens d'ou, toi-même? Orthez?

Ortès is in Bearnese/Bearnais, NOT Occitan

edit

The page says that Orthez' name in Occitan is Ortès but not only is Occitan barely spoken in the Bearn (even less in the Pays d'Orthez), but Ortès is actually in Bearnese. Reference to that: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orthez Mathias Voorhees (talk) 23:57, 29 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
