Buff Orpingtons and Interactions with Humans

I spent nearly a decade raising these chickens, among other chickens, and noticed a handful of things, of which they also have a reputation of in local farming communities:

- Buff Orpingtons appear to be naturally friendly chickens

- Buff Orpingtons appear to be the least prone to cannibalism

- Buff Orpingtons appear to be the least prone to cockfighting

- Buff Orpingtons appear to be the least prone to ovivory (though, a broody chicken may sample an accidentally cracked egg, and around half the time they start intentionally eating eggs)

I don't know if this applies to regular Orpingtons, or if it's specific to golden/Buff Orpingtons. If anyone knows of external sources regarding the interactions of Orpington chickens (and with each other, regarding cannibalism, cockfighting, and ovivory), it would be greatly appreciated - I'm not going to cite my personal experiences. Addendum: The source stating the amount of eggs laid per year is either outdated, or Americans (potentially just Texans) have access to a higher-production species of golden Buff Orpington chickens. Here in Texas, Buff Orpington chickens are daily egg layers, granting 365(/366 leap) eggs a year. Madamepestilence (talk) 0:46, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
