Which Purdie?

edit

The original description at https://ia801701.us.archive.org/9/items/newzealandjourna1188283du/newzealandjourna1188283du_djvu.txt says "BY MR. ALEX. PURDIE, B.A.", which could be an abbreviation for Alexander Callender Purdie or his son Alex Purdie (lepidopterist). The same journal has another article by "ALEXR. PURDIE, B.A.".

The second volume of the same journal at https://ia801700.us.archive.org/16/items/newzealandjourna11891dune/newzealandjourna11891dune_djvu.txt has content by "BY ALEX. PURDIE, M.A.". That may help identify the authority for this species.

Good luck if anybody can figure it out.  SchreiberBike | ⌨  06:03, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
