Polyamines pathway edit

im working on the polyamines pathway, and i wanted to know if we can dansylate and quantify L-ornithine by tlc. Each concentration of dansyl chlorid, of ornithine. is ornithine can have a spontaneous cyclisation.

Removed line edit

I removed the line " It is believed not to be a part of genetic code because polypeptides containing unprotected ornithines undergo spontaneous lactamization" because it is misleading and confusing. Ornithine is not part of the genetic code because it is an amino acid, whereas the genetic code is made up of nucleic acids. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.84.160.177 (talk) 14:22, 3 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

pKa edit

Hi, I have an issue with the pKa listed on the properties tab. This is listed as having a really acidic pKa. While that is the case for the carboxy terminus, the side chain has a pKa of 10.29. Can we clarify this section? Pjlmac (talk) 04:31, 23 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Etymology/discovery edit

If this article purports to be properly encyclopedic, why does the current version fail to address the etymology of this word, as well as the discovery of this compound? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 23:36, 30 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
