No offense

edit

No offense, but this article needs a lot more citations. A person who has never heard of this incident would be baffled while reading some of it. Smith Jones 23:58, 31 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Who are W children?

Name?

edit

Who chose this name, to all and sundry it was always known as the Orkney child abuse scandal. Here is a reference to substantiate what i say from the Scottish newspaper, the Daily record [1]. In fact for most people, the name South Ronaldsay has absolutely no real meaning except to be extremely geographically specific. It's akin to saying the '9/11 attacks on lower Manhattan island' rather than its common title the '9/11 attacks on New York'.

BTW a Google search for Orkney child abuse throws up 101,000 results. Whereas South Ronaldsay child abuse throw up only 15,700 results. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.156.27.176 (talk) 16:52, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

This edit added the following text which I've just removed:

One must be careful not to conflate the cases of the W family and the other families, although the two are clearly connected. The W family had a clear history of sexual and physical abuse. The children showed alarming and disturbed behaviour that their mother was not able to control. Their situation was closely monitored by the appropriate agencies, tribunals and courts over a number of years. They could well be the most monitored family in Scotland.
As of 2012 the is no indication that May Willsher was successful in any action arising out of these events.

The second paragraph contains an incorrect year but I don't know what was intended. The first paragraph desperately needs sources -- we're in BLP territory here. --Northernhenge (talk) 20:47, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
