Notes from the producer edit
As I told Tedder, I emailed the producers of the show telling them about the new article and asking for feedback. Here's the email he sent me:
Thank you for taking the time to put together a Wikipedia entry for Oregon Field Guide. We appreciate it very much!
There are several errors that I believe are worth correcting on your entry:
Host: Steve Amen is host and executive producer. (not Jim Newman)
Producer/ Reporters: currently, we have three regular producer/reporters on Oregon Field Guide. Ed Jahn, Vince Patton and Jule Gilfillan. Other producer/reporters in the past have included Jim Newman, Eric Cain, Jessica Martin and Jeff Douglas. Steve Amen (host) also produces stories.
Jim Newman is not the narrator on the show. Most stories are narrated by the producer/reporter, though Steve Amen has also narrated reports produced by others.
On awards: Several of the show’s producers have received awards from the Society of Environmental Journalists for “Outstanding Beat/ In Depth Reporting for Television”. One Award for “Marmot Dam” (Vince Patton), another for “Biscuit Fire Recovery” (Jahn) and another for “The Silent Invasion” (Jahn)
I believe your tally of EMMY awards is incomplete, but I have not gathered a complete list yet. I know that I’ve won 5 for my own stories, and I think that all of our photographers have won Emmy’s for their work as well.
Some very important corrections: The Silent Invasion was NOT an Oregon Invasive Species Council (OISC) campaign. It was an OPB documentary production. There was a campaign/outreach component that included partnerships with OISC and SOLV among others. It was NOT funded by Oregon Sea Grant. The documentary did not look at scotch broom, Japanese ellgrass. It did look at yellow-star thistle, quagga mussels, spartina and English Ivy, among others.
I will try to provide more information on awards if we can come up with a more complete list. Again, thank you for doing this. We’re proud of the show and we’re happy to see a Wikipedia entry for it. I’m happy to help if you have any further questions.

- Nice! My sources were sketchy on some of that, so I/we should fix it. Who was that reply? The "I" made me wonder if it was Amen himself. I'd like to have a beer with him sometime. tedder (talk) 21:37, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
