Free Blacks
editIt says the Free Blacks ballot proposition was defeated and that the proposition put forward the question of banning free blacks from Oregon. Then it says that the vote was ~8,000 to ban, ~1,000 not to ban. This seems contradictory and there is no weblink that I can check the source from.Mbisanz 16:36, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- Was a typo, now corrected. Vote was to allow free Blacks to live in Oregon and it was defeated, but never enforced. Sadly the measure remained in the Constitution until the 1920s. Aboutmovies 16:48, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
