Talk:Ordoño II of León

Map

edit

The map had several errors, I believe. Firstly, Castile was not a kingdom then. Secondly, the division into Galicia, León, and Castile seems a little arbitrary. Why not Galicia, León, and Asturias? Thirdly, the spelling of "Al-Andaluz" is foreign to me (in any language). Finally, Aragón looked nothing like that at that time. Srnec 02:33, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Introduction part

edit

The introduction part seems to be a translation from the Spanish version, and, if so, there seems to be some mistranslations:

  • "who submitted only the territories of the kingdom of Leon under his control"

The corresponding Spanish text is "que sometió a su autoridad única los territorios del reino leonés", which should be understood as "who submitted the territories of the kingdom of Leon under his sole control" (after the death of García I of León, who was in conflict with Ordoño). I mean, the use of "única" is misunderstood here.

  • "His reign marked the tactical and smooth transition of..."

The corresponding Spanish text is "Su reinado supuso el tránsito tácito y tranquilo del...", which should be understood as "His reign marked the quiet and smooth transition of..." (that is, "tácito" is mistaken for "táctico")

I am not sure whether the content of the Spanish page is correct, so I don't edit the English text now, just posting suggestions.
