GCPO sash edit

Article states "Knights / Dame Grand Cross (GCPO): who wear a wide dark blue silk ribbon (sash) bordered with red which extends saltire-wise from the left shoulder to the right side where the star of the order is suspended by a rosette...." Accompanying illustration shows it reaching from the right shoulder to the left hip. Which is correct? 71.233.90.196 (talk) 04:11, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Also, a saltire is a diagonal cross. The illustration shows the sash worn bendwise; as described in the article, the sash appears as a bend sinister. 71.233.90.196 (talk) 04:15, 22 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Original name of the order? edit

Since it was first created in 1560, but Pius IX, after whom it is named, was not around till the 19th century, it must have had a different name before Pius IX re-instituted it. Details? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 09:14, 1 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
