Incomprehensible

I came here to learn what an optical downconverter is and I am now more confused. The article fails to adequately explain the subject and introduces several arcane ideas without further enlightenment. Unclear Topic, Factually Incorrect

It is unclear if this article is meant to describe Difference-frequency generation (DFG), optical microwave generation, or microwave photonics downconverters (mixers).

DFG is equivalent to Optical parametric amplifier # Optical_parametric_amplification_(OPA) and should probably just link there.

Optical microwave generation creates microwaves or THz waves by mixing two optical beams, also known as Photomixing.

Microwave photonics downconverters and mixers use photonics techniques to mix two microwave signals. As far as I can tell no article about this exists on Wikipedia. TiSapphLight (talk) 21:22, 22 July 2023 (UTC)
