Talk:Opinion polling for the November 2015 Turkish general election

Sample size edit

I had deleted the number 15,000 as the sample size for the Varyans poll of 3-Sep-15 becasue I cannot find it in the link given (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_for_the_Turkish_general_election,_November_2015). However, Nub Cake reinstated it, but never replied to a request for clarification in his talk page. Therefore, because the detail is apparently unsubstantiated, I will tag it with [citation needed].--Gciriani (talk) 14:55, 5 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Are the pollers serious organizations that adhere to international polling standards? edit

I've never seen in other election polling sample sizes this large. Normally tables displaying polling results say that the pollers are part of some serious organization. I'm wondering if the large sample size shown by Varyans is just the size of the group from which a smaller sample was drawn, or if Varyans is not a serious poller.--Gciriani (talk) 17:51, 8 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

it is well known that the AK party and the current Turkish government are undemocratic and coerce the press in everywhich way. Those coercion ways are very probably directed to pollsters as well, (including pollsters for hire?)
Thanks for engaging. If you look at other elections poll in Wikipedia, there is always a statement indicating that the polling organizations belong to some polling organization, which guarantees some minimum standard. This article sends over to Opinion polls in Turkey, and I do not see Varyans listed there. So I propose to take it out. Do you agree?.--Gciriani (talk) 22:44, 8 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Trend lines on graphs edit

Can these be corrected for the graph displayed on the main page? They are correctly shown for the June 2015 election. Why are they so obviously NOT trend lines for the November 2015 version? They're all over the place and amke reading the graph harder. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.187.58.218 (talk) 13:44, 27 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Konda polls edit

To answer EasySeven's question, I did not remove any polls. There were two unverified Konda polls in the article. Konda didn't verify them, but we added them as Konda polls anyway because that's what we had at the time. Now Konda released all their earlier poll results, and I corrected the dates and figures for those Konda polls accordingly. The poll that leaked on September 30 was conducted on 5–6 September, and the figures were correct, I just added the correct poll date. The poll that leaked on October 21 was probably the one conducted on October 17-18, but the results for that one were not correct, so I corrected its figures from Konda's website. Those figures probably belong to one of the scenarios in that poll report and not the actual poll results, that is unless that website completely made the numbers up. There is no reason to readd the refuted figures, now that Konda announce what the correct figures are for their polls.--Orwellianist (talk) 02:41, 1 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
