Integrist edit

Can we better define the word "integrist" on this page? The attached link refers to the Papacy and the French Revolution - hardly what I think the Islamic militants are. Magog the Ogre (talk) 23:04, 17 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Map needs to be updated edit

I will updated the map if I find a wiki compatible liced map. --yousaf465' 07:14, 18 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Beligerents edit

Why include the US as a beligerent? 124.171.219.128 (talk) 07:49, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Because they have shot drones into the warzone killing Taliban militants, as part of the greater "War on Terror". Jolly Ω Janner 10:35, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Start of Operation edit

there's probably a good reason that i'm not seeing for omiting this information, but shouldnt the infobox for this page display the start date of the start of the Pakistani ground operation in addition to the date when the operation formally commenced? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.164.60.56 (talk) 22:41, 5 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Out of Date edit

This article appears to have been written at the start of operations, and not updated since. Seeing as it has been two years, we could probably afford to update the text-changing the future tense to past, including info on how effective the offensive was, rather than how effective it was predicted to be, etc. I'm also going to fix references to Osama bin Laden possibly being in South Waziristan, since recent events have proven this assumption false. The article will now make references to the fact that it was believed at the time that OBL was in the region. Dpenn89 (talk) 06:31, 14 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Additional Concerns edit

I noticed that most of the first section appears copy-pasted from the TIME article listed as a reference. This is copyrighted material, and should be reworded to avoid complications.

Second, I did some cleanup work on the rest of the article, making it reflect something that has already happened, and eliminating the POV use of the word "martyred" to describe fallen soldiers. This eliminates a possibly contentions wording on a matter of faith, and simplifies the article's sentence structure.

I see room for updating this article with more recent reporting on the outcome of operations-surely some more progress has been made since last October? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dpenn89 (talkcontribs) 07:18, 14 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Non-existent units/ incorrect order of battle edit

Some units, such as the "50th Airborne division" and "10th Special Forces Battalion", do not exist and aren't name in any of the sources mentioned. They should be removed. 2A02:C7C:D45B:2C00:E0FE:1B55:E727:88AF (talk) 03:04, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
